Discover Bunya Mountains National Park
The Bunya Mountains National Park is a subtropical haven of cool rainforest and green woodland just a short drive from our Toowoomba motel accommodation.
Follow winding tracks through dense eucalyptus forest, untamed grassland and vine scrubs, taking in cascading waterfalls, ancient bunya pines and ragged mountain peaks along the way. Popular with birdwatchers worldwide, the park is home to 121 rare and beautiful species, including crimson rosellas, satin bowerbirds and wonderfully coloured king parrots. Animal lovers should also look out for red necked wallabies; bush tailed possums, swamp wallabies, great barred frogs and shy red necked pademelons hiding amongst the undergrowth.
There’s over 35km of walking tracks to explore, ranging from a 500m stroll to a full 10km hike. All tracks are classified according to the Australian Walking Track Standards so you can pick the route that’s perfect for your fitness level and experience. Whichever route you choose to follow, you are guaranteed spectacular panoramic views in this peaceful and pristine area of natural beauty, within easy reach of Platinum International.
